As we approach the end of what would’ve been the world’s most famous rock guitarist JIMI HENDRIX’s 80th year, we help to celebrate that moment by presenting to you FREAK FLAG – the regions definitive Jimi Hendrix tribute band!
They’re playing here at The Chambers on Friday 24th Nov’ which is the closest Friday to the main man’s 81st birthday (27th).
Expect a raft of all of Jimi’s classic numbers, plus – as is the trade mark of Freak Flag – lots of the tracks that formed his style and unbelievable technique that aren’t quite so famous.
A real tour de force of all things Jimi!
The night’s not just limited to Hendrix alone though as the boys have the armoury to throw in some other heavyweight summer of love and rock classics too from Cream, Jeff Beck amongst other guitar heroes of the era too.
Also present at The Chambers on the night will be representatives of the ‘Noel Redding Project’.
A Folkestone based movement of enthusiasts/volunteers who’re gaining traction more and more towards the single aim of erecting a bronze statue of Folkestone’s most famous Rock son, Noel Redding. Otherwise known to the greater world as Jimi Hendrix’s bass player in ‘The Experience’!
A big task but one that can be helped on it’s way with not only donations and sponsorship but also ideas and initiatives…so please feel free to spend some time in the intermission chatting to the representatives of the Nβ’Rβ’P and be part of this brilliant arts and music heritage movement!
As our part to help this amazing movement to it’s amazing conclusion, we’ve together with Freak Flag made the night free entrance but will ask for donations to the Noel Redding Project fund instead.
BUT THERE’S NO OBLIGATION as we all know that time’s is a bit tough atm and the biggest thing above ALL else is to come and enjoy the music!!!
What a great community project for everyone to get involved in though huh β₯:-)β₯
See you on the 24th Nov and remember…wear flowers in your hair xx
