Community

The Chambers owners Chris, Liz, their daughter Rosie and manager of 16 years Thom are Folkestone born and bred or now live here. Therefore, their community means everything.

We regularly work with Action On Homelessness in Folkestone, providing meals from our kitchens to assist their amazing all year round efforts.

We were active from inception on the Directors board of Folkestone Pride and support them each year with technical requirements, kit / PA and ground support for the annual Folkestone Pride event.

A long-standing involvement with Strange Cargo Arts; the originators of Public Art in Folkestone for nearly 30 years, is strengthened each year with us providing tech / PA for their street carnival ‘Charivari’ every summer.

For the last 2 summers we have provided free entertainment for the town via a programme of music ‘Make A Stand For Music’ on Folkestone Bandstand in conjunction with Folkestone Festivals.

Crisis further afield in Ukraine also rallied The Chambers supporters, with them being moved to fund a run to Ukraine in April of 2022, with The Chambers using their events van to take aid directly to the Ukraine border AND evacuate refugees through Europe on the return journey. This led to working with DIY Ukraine and Kent Help For Ukraine, continuing support into 2023.

Other organisations we support include CRUK, Mind, A DRESS, RNIB, and our local Community Fridge amongst others. We were fundamental in bringing the ‘ASK ANGELA’ campaign to prominence in our region.

We are members of various local community organisations, supporting the Pubwatch scheme and Folkestone Area Protection Against Crime.

Nationally we are members of the Music Venues Trust, key players in supporting, shaping & sustaining the country’s music scene.

Being members of the British Institute Of Innkeeping allows us to be at the forefront of the ever-changing hospitality industry and give extra support to our staff.
